5 resources for your summer break

Newsletter, podcast, book, you pick!

The Simple Mind is a newsletter to help you reduce overthinking and boost self-confidence.

I’ve got plenty of things to say, but this week, I want to share some cool content creators and books for you beach reads (and if you live on the July winter side of the world, these work perfectly for fireplace breaks too).

Happy European summer,

Orianne

Lewis Holme’s - School of Greatness podcast

Packed with amazing guests, what I particularly enjoy about this podcast is Lewis’ genuine curiosity and joy of learning new things. I believe that’s what gets his guests to geek out even deeper on their specialty. You learn a ton, and as a listener it makes you feel like you’re part of a fascinating conversation.

Start with this one: master emotional regulation — but really any episode is worth it.

Brianna Wiest’s book - The Mountain is You

This book about self-sabotage low-key changed the way I think. I read it in the midst of Covid, and it really gave me the extra drive to start my business and start writing. That was no small rewiring (you can read here about my journey getting over my fear of not being good enough to write).

I love the way Brianna writes, it feels like you are reading messaging from a caring friend, who loves, supports but also challenges you. I also loved 101 Essays That Will Change the Way You Think, in case you can’t get enough.

Amanda Goetz’s Newsletter - Life’s a game

Amanda basically shares cheat sheets for hacking life. I love her direct, simple, and creative approach. It’s no BS, effective, easy-to-implement systems to make your life easier.

You can read previous editions in the blog section of her website. I’d start with this one with a simple, but life-changing time management edition.

Nedra Glover Tawwab’s book - Set Boundaries, Find Peace

Diving in the world of boundaries is fascinating. The book makes you realize how necessary boundaries are in areas you hadn’t even considered. I really resonated with the part on mental boundaries (it inspired this edition).

The book answers some tough questions such as how do we set boundaries with the most demanding parts of ourselves, our mind? (or with our parents and family which can be pretty demanding too).

Karl Taro Greenfeld’s first novel - Triburdia

Yes, it’s not all about mindset. If you want to disconnect, dive into the world of these 6 fathers living in the trendy Tribeca neighborhood. You may not be able to put it down.

Extra

A bit of shameless advertising, if you want to work on your self-confidence this summer, my Self-Confidence Workbook is available on KDP unlimited or can be downloaded for free on my website.

If you’re new here, welcome! I’m Orianne, I share weekly tools to help you reduce overthinking and boost your self-confidence.

A bit more about me: I am a mindset coach. I coach brilliant humans who perform very well but want to improve their relationship with themselves (their minds). I am a chocolate addict, live by the beach, and always read several books at the same time (currently The teacher from Freida McFadden — I can’t put her books down, and Sell like crazy from Sabri Suby).

If you enjoyed this newsletter, you can read the previous editions and subscribe here. If you want to improve your mindset, I am launching a 1:1 coaching program for Founder’s mindset. Check it out here.
